The NAW Billion Dollar Company Chief Information Officer Roundtable for direct members was created as a new mechanism for the CIO’s of large distribution enterprises to network with non-competing peers in multiple lines of trade on key IT issues.

Similar to other billion dollar roundtables NAW has created for the CLO, CFO, Operations, and Human Resource executive, this by invitation only roundtable is composed of executives from billion dollar companies that meet in Chicago two times per year. This highly interactive group consists of the SENIOR-MOST IT executives. The annual fee is $1,800 per member, which covers meeting costs for two events in a twelve month cycle. Participants are expected to cover the cost of their hotel and travel. Once the annual fee is paid, there are no additional fees to attend the meetings, which will last one day beginning with a reception and dinner the evening before.

The participating companies can also name an alternate who can take the place of the enrolled Executive, should that person be unable to attend the scheduled meeting.

“CIOs as the CEOs of Collaboration Culture”

Billion Dollar CIOs pursuing a collaboration culture need to: first, find the right tool or compilation of collaboration tools; and second, get C-suite buy-in to lead by example by using these new tools in their respective divisions to accomplish meaningful business objectives together. Billion Dollar CIOs face a host of challenges in their pursuit of enterprise collaboration, some of which are ingrained into the culture of their companies. Resistance to change is the obstacle facing CIOs at most companies and the reasons could include anything from workplace culture to perceived cost and complexity.


  • This session will focus on case studies where billion dollar companies have found the the best solutions in finding relevant collaboration tools and the critical thinking and planning to integrate the tool successfully in their cultures.
  • This session will also address the different challenges faced in this process including:
    • finding cloud-based collaboration tools that addresses the needs of the enterprise users at anytime, anywhere, and on any device.  (Focusing on tools outside of Dropbox, Office 365 and Google Drive.)
    • finding collaboration tools that appease the different age demographics in the workforce
    • getting C-Suite buy-in on major transformational decisions, employee adoption, sustainable engagement, security, content quality, standardization and tool selection.

“Deliver agility and seamless user experience with cloud for business”

Speakers: Danny Halim & John Sarvari at JDA Software

o This session will offer a perspectives for companies that are considering or in the process of adopting a cloud platform for their businesses, particularly in the supply chain area. JDA will review its journey as a case study from selecting the go-forward cloud platform, to the anticipated business and technical benefits, as well as lessons learned and the roadmap for adopting the cloud platform to deliver innovations.


  • Participants will hear some of the considerations and factors to selecting the right cloud platform for their own businesses.

This session will focus on case studies on strategies that billion dollar CIOs have used to measure and leverage customer experience data including the following:

  • Measuring scores from customer surveys, trouble tickets and customer callbacks.
  • Creating teams that measure the internal, external, and virtual customer experiences.
  • Collaborating with C-Suite executives to transform the corporate culture to focus on the customer experience as a top priority.
